Chapter 2 Flashcards
True or False? An IAP can be deployed as a Campus AP or an RAP?
True
Difference between 100, 200, 300 series APs?
100 series supports 802.11n, 200 support 802.11ac, 300 supports wave 2 & BLE is integrated.
What are MSR APs?
They are outdoor mesh APs.
True or false? The difference between controller models is the functionality.
False. The difference is only in network capacity & scalability.
What is airwave?
A management platform for monitoring and managing the networks.
What are AM APs?
Air monitor APs do not support user connectivity. They constantly scan the radio environment for IDS and layer 2 information.
What are SA APs?
Spectrum Analysis. Can serve clients in hybrid mode. Captures radio signals for analysis.
What types of configurations are not pushed to LCs by the MC?
L2 or L3 configurations such as VLANs, IP routes, DHCP.
Name 5 facts about Master Controllers
AOS6.x, only a physical controller, can terminate APs, can be a license server, can be a CPSec trust anchor.
Name 4 facts about MMs
AOS8.x, can be on a physical or virtual appliance, cannot terminate APs, can push full configuration.
What is a Multi-Zone AP?
AP tunnels that support corporate employee WLANs can terminate in one zone (primary), while tunnels for guest traffic can terminate to controller(s) in a different zone(data)
What are GRE tunnels used for?
User traffic is always GRE encapsulated in tunnel mode. APs create one GRE tunnel per SSID, per radio and one additional GRE tunnel for keepalives.
