What were the aims of the League?
- To discourage aggression from any nation.
- To encourage countries to co-operate, especially in business and trade.

Name 5 things the League of Nations did to work for a better world
- Refugees - refugees of war and former prisoners of war back to their homelands.
- Working conditions - e.g. banning poisonous white lead from paint.
- Health - The Health Committee helped to develop vaccines and other medicines .
- Transport - produced an international highway code for road users.
- Social Problems - The League blacklisted 4 large GR, Dutch, FR and Swiss companies which were involved in drug trade.
Why did disarmament fail in the 1930s?
-BR and FR signed agreement 1935, allowing GR to build army as long as it stayed 35% of the size of BR navy, Many felt ToV was unfair.
How did Mussolini’s invasion of Abyssinia affect the League?
-All the League did was to ban arms sales, which did Abyssinia more harm than Italy.
What did the economic depression damage in particular?
-The trade and industry of all countries and affected relations between countries and it also led to important political changed within countries.
What weaknesses did the Manchuria crisis exploit about the League?
-The League was powerless if a strong nation decided to pursue an aggressive policy and invade its neighbours.
