Penis
• The primary male sexual organ • Ejaculated semen • Transport urine • Contain three blood vessels Does not contain any bones or muscles
Penile glans
- A very sexually sensitive area of the penis
* The tip
Corona
Is the raised ridge at the base of the penile glans where the tip of the penis joins the shaft
Frenulum
Area of tissue at the base of the underside of the penile glans
Corpora Cavernosa
Two parallel chambers that run the length of the penis and become engorged with blood during erection. two of this in the penis
Corpus spongiosum
A middle chamber running the length of the penis into the glans that engorges with blood during erection
Circumcision
Removal of the foreskin of the penis
Foreskin
A layer of skin covering the glans of the penis
Erection
Rigidity of the penis or clitoris resulting from an inflow of blood during sexual arousal
Urethra
The tube extending from the bladder to the urethral opening, which carries urine out of the body in both women and men, as well as semen in men.
Phimosis
A condition in which tight foreskin can’t be pulled back over the head of the penis.
Scrotum
The sac of thin skin and muscle containing the testicles in the male
Testes
Oval structures approximately 1.0 to 1.5 inches in length made up of microscopic tubes in which sperm cells and testosterone are produced in the male
Gonads
Produce cells for reproduction, usually refer as testicles
Testosterone
Male sex hormone.Responsible for male sexual characteristics and production of sperm cells
Seminiferous Tubles
Tightly wound microscopic tubes that comprise the testicles in the male. Produce sperms
Interstitial Cells
Produce hormones and testosterones
Epididymis
Long, narrow structure attached to the back of each testicle, where the sperm cells are stored as they mature
Vas deferens
A tube extending from the testicles through epidermis into the male;s body for the transport of mature sperm cells during ejaculation;mixed with semen
