Root Directory
The root directory is the top-level folder in a file system. It’s where all other folders and files are stored, and it acts as the starting point or “home base” for accessing everything on a storage device, like a computer’s hard drive.

Pairs an application with a file extension
ex xlsx files for Excel
What is the proper folder structure for Windows?
Once a program is installed, where do their important files go?
Most programs install their important files in a sub folder of the “Programs Folder”. The manufacturer decides how to label and structure their sub folders
