Explain the difference between the WWW and the Internet.
- The WWW is a collection of interlinked, hypertext documents, webpages or multimedia resources that can be accessed through the Internet. Uses the HTTP protocol.
- The internet is the global connection of interconnected computer networks. Uses the TCP/IP protocol.
What is Spatial Redundancy?
A sequence of consecutive pixels in a single video frame have the value.
What is Temporal Redundancy?
Pixels in a sequence of consecutive video frames have the same value in the same location.
List the advantages of a Fibre Optic Cable (7 points)
- Greater bandwidth.
- Need less signal boosting.
- Greater security.
- Immune to electromagnetic and other effects.

- Consume less power.
- Useful in long distance communication due to less interference and attenuation.

What is server side scripting and why may it be used?
It is a technique used to produce responses customised to a customer’s needs on a website, using scripting.
It may be used to keep the data more consistent and safe on websites such as banking websites, allowing the client to only access the results of the query, and the server keeping the data and performing the queries for the client. The customers can be identified from databases in the server.
