length (unit - metre/ cm) :
1) metre rule and measuring tape
2) vernier caliper (how to use)
- read the main scale (directly opposite the zero mark on the vernier scale)
- find the scale lines that align the vernier scale and main scale
- final reading = main scale + vernier scale

volume (m3, cm3, km3, L, mL) : 1) measuring cylinder - take note of the initial volume - lower the object in the cylinder - take note of the final volume (volume of object = final - original) 2) displacement can - fill up water to the opening - lower object in the can, water would slowly displace out of it - the water is collected in a measuring cylinder
