What does faith help you become?
Aware of God’s presence, his power, and his goodness.
What can faith do to your heart?
It can fill your heart with gratitude toward God.
How can you become the person God has called you to be?
Have faith through sorrows and believe God is with you.
For Jesus, the road to glory through what?
Suffering
The apostles needed stronger faith, so Jesus took Peter, James, and John to a mountain, why?
They saw him transfigured in glory.
What did Jesus do for our salvation?
He willingly endured suffering and death.
What does the transfiguration teach us?
That glory comes through the cross.
Jesus passed from death to resurrection just as the Israelites did what?
As they past through death to life in the Exodus.
How does the Father teach us to meet joys and sorrows?
He says, “Listen my son.” Jesus speaks to us and strengthens our faith in scritpure, prayer, and sacraments.
What was Jesus’ goal in the face of opposition?
To do the will of the Father and proclaim a kingdom.
What did the raising of Lazarus do?
It united the forces of opposition and was the immediate cause of Jesus’ death.
Why didn’t the apostles want Jesus to go to Lazarus?
He was there previously, and the people tried to find a way to kill him
What encouraging message did Jesus give to Martha?
I am the life and death. Anyone who follows/believes in me shall live.
What were Jesus’ emotions at the tomb?
Jesus shows that he is human by showing that he is sad that his friend has died.
How did Jesus show he was following his Father’s will?
Jesus show that he was following his father’s will, by raising his friend from the dead. And saying follow me and you shall live.
