unable to swallow, protect the airway, or follow simple commands. Ingestion of caustic substance. Exposure to toxin/poison via means other than ingestion.

Vomiting, black/tar stool a few days post administration

Non-cardiac chest pain, erectile dysfunction drug use in last 24-48hrs, systolic BP < 100, recent dosing

Light headedness, fainting, drop in BP, anxiety, increased HR

Naloxone (Narcan) Dose

Reverses the effects of narcotics, including depressed level of consciousness and respiratory depression

Suspected narcotic overdose, coma of an unknown cause
Naloxone (Narcan) Contra indications
Patient breathing adequately and able to maintain own airway
Naloxone (Narcan) Side Effects
May precipitate withdrawal in patients dependent on narcotics
