Q

How can we correct astigmatism using a corneal incision

A

By making an incision in the steepest meridian. This flattens it out

Q

How can a compression suture be used to correct astigmatism in corneal transplant

A

Place tight suture in the flattest meridian causing it to become more curved to match the other meridian.

This can be combined with relaxin incision at 90 degrees away from the suture to reduce large degrees of astigmatism.
