What is internal recruitment?
happens through transfers & promotions. advantages are: more cost effective because employees already know the organization’s policies and operational procedures - strong motivator to move up
what is external recruitment?
organized effort to attract candidates from outside the organization, important to use a targeted recruitment effort
What is selecting?
initial weeding out of candidates - eliminating through background checks, drug tests, testing, interviewing
what is orientating?
telling about organization, typical workday, rules, policies, procedures
what is training?
acquiring of knowledge, skills, abilities, concepts, attitudes, how to do specific things

evaluating how well employees do their jobs, by providing informal feedback or formal written record
