Abiotic Factor
All of the aspects of the environment that has never been alive.
Biotic Factor
All of the living or once living aspects of the environment.
Biosphere
Consists of all the parts of Earth where life can be found. This is the highest level of organization in ecology.
Ecology
The science of how living things interact with each other and their environment.
Population Density
An average measure of individuals in a population for a given area.
Population Distribution
How people in a population are distributed, or spread through an area.
Population Growth Rate
How quickly a population changes in size over time.
Population Pyramid
A graphical illustration that shows the distribution of various age groups in population.
Population
The number of things living in an environment.
Age-Sex Structure
Numbers of individuals of each sex and age in the population.
Carrying Capacity
The number of people of a biological species in an environment.
Exponential Growth
Growth rate that is higher than other growth rates
Logistic Growth
Is growth at a normal rate
Commensalism
A symbiotic relationship in which one species benefits while the other species is not affected.
Community
A group of things living together.
