What is mitochondrial DNA ?
A
The DNA that is contained in the mitochondria, this DNA comes in the shape of small circular molecules. There are about five to ten in a mitochondrion.
Mitochondrial DNA has has 37 genes, all of which are essential for the mitochondrion to function.
