Arteriosclerosis
Hardening of arteries
Atherosclerosis
Is a lipid-laden, it build up inside the arteries
Coronary Artery Disease
Damage is caused by atherosclerosis
Also is called (Coronary heart disease)
It reduces blood flow to the heart and can cause angina pectoral
Angina pectoris
Chest pain due to insufficient blood supply
Myocardial
Destruction of heart tissue resulting from obstruction of a coronary artery
Thrombus (heart attack)
Blood clot formed within a blood vessel
Embolus (heart attack)
Blood clot that travels through the blood stream
Stroke ( cerebrovascular accident)
Damages to the brain tissue/ artery bursting or blood clot
Thrombus & embolus can cause a stroke
Arrhythmia
Anything that’s not normal is considered a arrhythmia
Heart beat to fast or too slow
Tachycardia
Abnormally rapid heart rate
Bradycardia
Abnormally slow heart rate
Senatorial node
Specialized tissue that acts as the heart pacemaker
Atrial fibrillation
Quivering of the artia
Ventricular fibrillation
Ineffective quivering can be life threatening
Congestion heart failure
Heart is not able to pump enough blood to meet their needs
