Chapter 15 Flashcards
What are the three types of Differential Reinforcement ?
DRA, DRO, DRL
What is the abbreviation of Differential reinforcement of Alternative Behavior ?
DRA
What is the abbreviation for Differential reinforcement of other Behavior ?
DRO
Differential reinforcement of Low Rates of Responding ?
DRL
Define DRA
Reinforcer is delivered for desirable behavior and extinction for the problem behavior
What are the Variations DRA ?
DRI and FCT
DRI and FCT are two variations of DRA, what are the full terms of these abbreviations ?
DRI= Differential Reinforcement of Incompatible Behavior
FCT= Functional Communication Training
Give an example of DRA
A child’s good table manners are reinforced with praise by passing the requested food. Their bad manners are extinguished by ignoring them and not passing them food.
When should you use DRA ?
- When you want to increase a desirable behavior/decrease an undesirable one
- The desirable behavior already occurs so you can prompt it
- You have a reinforcer you can use
What is DRO ?
A reinforcer that is delivered for the absence of the problem behavior in intervals of time
Give an example of DRO
Access to a favorite toy given every .5hrs for the absence of fighting with siblings
What is Whole Interval DRO ?
The problem must be absent for the whole interval for reinforcement
What is Moment DRO ?
The problem must be absent at the end of the interval for reinforcement
How is DRL used ?
Used to get a behavior to occur less, but entirely eliminate it.
What are the two types of DRL ?
Full session DRL and spaced responding DRL
