Evaded cadence (From glossary of book)

A

A general term for ac adence that deviates from the expected arrival on root-position tonic. A contrapuntal cadence is an example, where a passing seventh in the bass resolves to I6 or I6. Deceptive motion (V-vi) is also an evaded cadence.
