Why does Jane enjoy Rochester’s gruffness?
Jane enjoys his gruffness, because she wouldn’t have known how to respond to grace, elegance, or politeness. Jane feels she can be open and honest as well

A fairy, “men in green” are her relatives. This emphasises the mystical aspect to her. As an orphan, Jane’s past and future are both open, if she wants to claim fairies for kin, she can.Suggests their relationship will be ideal or special in some way=fairytale
