(CNI) sensory, olfaction
Optic nerve
(CNII) sensory, vision
Oculomotor nerve
(CNIII) motor, four extrinsic eye mucles, elevates eyelid, constricts pupils, round lens of eye
Trochlear nerve
(CNIV) motor, superior oblique eye muscle
Trigeminal nerve
(CNV) both, sensory-from anterior scalp, face, oral cavity and others..
motor- muscles of mastication and others
Abducens nerve
(CNVI) motor- lateral rectus eye muscle
Facial nerve
(CNV!!) both, sensory- taste anterior tongue, muscles of facial expression
motor- gland secretions from lacrimal, submandivular and salivary glands
Vestibulocochlear nerve
(CNVIII) sensory- hearing & equilibrium
Glossopharnygeal nerve
(CNIX) both, sensory- taste to posterior tongue, to part of pharynx
motor- stylopharyngeus muscle, secretions from parotid gland
Vagus nerve
(CNX) both, visceral sensory from heart, lungs and abdominal organs
general sensory from part of the pharynx, larynx
