What is motivation?
The internal and external factors that stimulate the desire in workers to be continually interested im and committed to doing a job well
What are the 4 human needs at a workplace?

Advantages of time based wages ?
1 It offers some security over pay levels
2 different rates can be paid to different types of workers
Disadvantages of time based wage?
1 there is no incentive to increase output as pay does not link with level of output
2 labour cost per unit will depend on output, which may vary per worker
What are the advantages of piece rate?
1 Motivates workers to increase output

4 fixed for one year ( labour costs are easier to calculate)
Disadvantages of salary?
1 not linked to output, complacency may be problem
2 if effort and achievement of employee is not checked then can lead to demotivated workers
Define job enrichment
Aims to use the full capabilities of workers by giving them the opportunity to do more challenging and fulfilling work
What are the THREE factors of job enrichment?
1 Complete units of work
2 range of tasks
3 Feedback on performance
