What is risk of misattribution of arousal?
Physiological arousal from other stimuli is attributed to feelings of love
Explain the triangular theory of love
Intimacy - emotional component which usually associated with closeness, boning, mutual understanding and sharing.
- Passion : motivational component i.e physical attraction and sexual expression
- Commitment: Cognitive component i.e short term decision to love or long term decision to maintain relationship
What is Sternberg’s triangle?
Liking (Intimacy) -> Commitment(Empty Love) -> Infatuation (passion)
Liking and empty love is considered - companion ate love
Empty love and Infatuation - Fatuous love
Infatuation and liking - Romantic love

Attraction:
- Brain is stimulated by norepinephrine & PEA
- Natural stimulant produces feelings of elation and euphoria- cant eat or sleep
Body builds up a tolerance - may lead to “fixing” on love
