Chapter 12 Flashcards
Face
Polygon that encloses a region of space in a polyhedron
Polyhedron
A solid bounded by polygons that enclose a single region of space
Regular polyhedron
All faces are regular polygons and the same number of faces meet at each vertex in exactly the same way
Prism
Polyhedron with two parallel, congruent faces
Volume
The number of cubic units contained in a polyhedrons interior
Pyramid
A polyhedron in which the base is a polyhedron and the lateral faces are triangles that have a common vertex
Regular pyramid
It’s base is a regular polygon and the segment from the vertex to the center of the base is perpendicular to the base
Sphere
Set of all points in a space that are a given distance from the center
