chapter 12 Flashcards
What is blockchain under traditional
- Centralized
- Middleman
- One copy of the ledger
What is blockchain (NEW)
- Decentralized
- Distributed ledger
- No middleman
- It cannot be modified without everyone knowing
- Write once and everyone can read the changes
Distributed and decentralized:
Data is distributed and synchronized among all participants
Consensus
All participants are aware of transactions; written to the block
Immutability:
Once the transaction is confirmed; it can’t be tampered with and cannot be altered
What is proof of work:
Miners compete to create the next block; solve complex math problems; use computer power
What is proof of authority
Admin identities who creating the blocks; the network can vote for admin removal in case of malicious behavior
What is proof of stake:
Validators who propose the next block lock up an amount of their cryptocurrency as a deposit to ensure honest behavior
what is the difference between Bitcoin and Ethereum
Bitcoin
1. 10 mins one block
1. 12.5 bitcoin reward
1. Higher fees
Ethereum
1. 10-12 seconds = 1 block
1. Mining is at a constant rate
1. Reward 3 ether
1. Low transaction cost
What is machine learning?
Computer ability to learn from experience rather than instructions
What are the types of learning
Classification and regression
What is classification ( supervised learning)
Adding labels; yes or no; spam or not spam
What is regression (unsupervised learning)
Predict real numbers; price of house, revenue next quarter
What is RPA and how can it be used?
uses automation technologies to mimic back-office tasks of human workers, such as extracting data, filling in forms, moving files
