What does scale enable us to do?
Scale enables us to examine issues from different perspectives.
What are the five types of perspectives?
personal, local, regional, national and global
What is space?
Everything has a location or a place on the surface of the Earth.
How can a place be described?
A place can be described by its absolute location: for example, latitude and longitude, a grid reference, street directory reference or an address. Place can also be described by its relative location - where it is in relation to another place in terms of distance and direction.
What is place?
Everywhere is a place. Each of the world’s biomes and
man-made and natural structures. Places can have different functions and activities.
What is interconnection?
How people and things are connected in their own ways, and how these connections help us understand how the world is changing.
What are some ways things can be interconnected?
The climate within a biome, such as a tropical rainforest can influence natural vegetation, while removal of this vegetation can affect climate. People can be interconnected to other people and places via employment, communications and sporting events.
