Greats Famine
most of northern Europe suffered unusual amounts of rain from 1315-1322 causing a shortage on grains which led to starvation because prices were increased due to the scarcity of the food.
Black Death
A plague that started in 1347 that killed one third of Europe’s population.
Flagellants
Groups christian of people that whipped/scourged themselves for the sins of their society

A war fought intermittently between England and France from 1337-1453
Representative assemblies
After the war many countries had began to represent Britain with a same or similar parliament
Babylonian captivity
This is a time where the popes lived in Avignon from 1309-1376 referring to when ancient Hebrews were how’d captive in Mesopotamian Babylon
Great schism
There was two popes in Avignon which led to the Christendom dividing
Conciliarists
People who beloved that the church could be saved through periodic assemblies or councils
Confraternities
Groups voluntary of lay Christians that would get together and had specialized practices such as praying for souls in pergatory
Jacquerie
The aftermath of the Hundred Years’ War had a huge impact on the poor causing and uprising called jacquerie
English peasants revolt
This revolt was based off of taxes and the start was assaults on tax collectors and to extremes of taking down castles
Statute of Kilkenny
A law that the English imposed on Ireland stating that there would be no marriages between immagrints and native peoples
