What are they Responsible for.
The Canadian International Development Agency, they are responsible for administering foreign aid programs.
If there Is a Natural Disaster what does CIDA do
They contribute short-term humanitarian aid in the form of money, supplies, and Human resources.
The CIDA’s priorities are?
To promote Human rights, democracy, and good governance in less developed countries.
Fair Trade Movement.
Works to promote?
trade polices that benifit workers, communities, and the environment, rather then the profits of the multinational corporations.
Their Foucases are
on exports from less developed nations to more developed nations.
Those involved in Fair Trade operate according to
- Paying Fair wage in the local context.
-Providing equal employment opportunities for all people.
-Engaging in environmentally sustainable practices.
-Providing healthy and safe working conditions.
Providing Financial and technical assistance to producers.
Transnational Corportions.
These are companies that operate factories, plants, or retail outlets, in various countries but maintain a head office in one country.
Most Transnational Corporations are based out of……
American/American owned companies. But other countries such as Japan, Germany,France, And Great Britian are also major Transnational companies.
What can Transnational Corps do,
They have a lot of power and are able to manipulate the governments by threatening to move their operations elsewhere.
