used to improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities ex. walkers, grippers

complex skills needed for independent living ex. going to bank, store

making able again; relearning skills or abilities or adjusting
existing functions
rehabilitation nursing
ex. teaching how to walk on different surfaces. How to get in and out of car.
