What rights do citizens have in Singapore?
As a citizen, individuals are entitled to certain legal rights.
Example: every Singaporean is ensured of the rights to education regardless of background (i.e. religion, race, income)
Example: there is freedom of religion - every person has the right to practise one’s religion.
What are the Responsibilities of a Citizen?
Responsibilities referring to citizens’ duties such as National Service, citizens obeying the law, citizens participating in meaningful causes contributing to the society.
What sense of Identity is there as a citizen?
As a citizen, we feel strongly about some common identities - such as speaking Singlish, growing up in a nation where there’s wide varieties of food.
Participation as a Citizen
We participate in common practices such as National Anthem, celebrating National Day, doing volunteering works.
