Expanded form
a way to write a number that shows the
place value of each of its digits; for example, 428 = 400 + 20 + 8 or 4 hundreds + 2 tens + 8 ones
Hundreds place
the third digit to the left of the decimal point in a number; the digit represents zero hundreds
through 9 hundreds
ones place
the first digit to the left of the decimal point in a
number; the digit represents zero ones through 9 ones
Standard form
the conventional way of writing numbers;
348 is standard form whereas 300 + 40 + 8 is expanded form
