Spatial Perspective
observing the spatial location of thing’s on Earth’s surface and determining why and how these things occupy their specific locations
Map scale
ratio of the distance between 2 objects depicted on a map and the distance of the same two objects where they actually exist on earth
Geographical scale
the scale at which a geographer analyzes a particular phenomena for example: global, national, census tract, neighborhood etc
Region
an area larger than a city that contains some unifying social or physical attributes
Regional geography
is the study of geographic regions
Why’re functional regions also called nodal regions?
because they are defined by the connections and interactions that occur between them and surrounding areas
Formal regions
definition of regions based on common themes such as similarities in language and climate
