Rapture
The taking up of the redeemed from this world
Judgment seat of Christ
The place where Christ judges Christians immediately after the rapture
Marriage supper of the lamb
Specific occasion when the church is eternally united to Christ as his bride
Great tribulation
Seven year period when judgment is meted out upon the world after the rapture
Revelation of Christ
The return of Christ to the earth after the tribulation
Battle of Armageddon
Battle in Israel which brings the tribulation to a climax
Judgment of gentiles
An occasion of judgment when it’s decided which Gentiles will enter the millennial
Millennium
1000 years when Christ rules in perfect peace
Great white throne judgment
After the millennium when the unsaved of all the ages will receive their eternal punishment in Hell
Pre-millennial view
Literal earthly millennium, the rapture proceeds it
Post millennial view
Literal millennium resulting from the spread of the gospel and the salvation of a lot of people, with Christ returning at its end
Amillennial view
Figurative millennium fufilled in a spiritual kingdom (nobody holds this view except Jehovah’s Witnesses)
Pre-tribulation
The rapture takes place before the tribulation
Mid tribulation
The rapture takes place in the middle of the seven-year tribulation
Post tribulation
The church will go through the tribulation and the rapture takes place afterwards
The last days
Approximately a 70 year period that takes place immediately before the rapture
The antichrist
Satan controlled political leader of the tribulation
Adomination of desolation
Desecration of the temple by the antichrist
The false prophet
The religious leader who will support the work of the antichrist
Mark of the beast
A Mark, in the hand or forehead. Through which the antichrist can control all buying and selling
Allegorical interpretation
Most prophetical scripture is symbolic
Literal interpretation
Most prophetical scripture should be interpreted literally, unless it is obviously symbolic
Historicist view
Most/all of revelation and prophecy has already been fulfilled symbolically throughout history
