Q

How will a skillful athlete carry out a smooth movement?

A

A PRO will be able to execute a skill perfectly, consistently, even with complex skills they will be able to execute them at a high level while other falter. Pros make appropriate decisions on what skill to use and they have the ability to “read the play” (time their movement) and block out irrelevant cues .

Q

Principles to consider to improve Fluency:

A
  • Possession of some form of innate, untrainable ability.
  • Mental relaxation prior to effort.
  • Thorough warm-up to ensure physical readiness.
  • Video Feedback
  • Stimulating competition at training to “loosen” up
  • Encourage athletes on “how it felt”
