1. The owner/transferor must notify the Licensing Authority by presenting documentation for the ownership transfer of the vehicle and also give a copy to buyer or transferee.
2. The transferor MUST also give the name of the vehicle’s new owner and return the vehicle’s registration to the Licensing Authority.

What must a buyer or transferee after he/she purchase a vehicle that had a previous owner?

1. They MUST write to the Licensing Authority confirming change of ownership.
2. Give the name of the previous owner of the vehicle.
3. He/She MUST also show the Licensing Authority an Insurance Certificate bearing his/her/the new owner’s name.

What does the Licensing Authority do when a vehicle that was previously registered is to be registered again with a new owner that lives the same parish as the previous owner?

1. The Licensing Authority will issue a new registration number (if the previous owner of the vehicle kept his/her number) and a new registration card in respect to payment of it.

1. The Licensing Authority assigns a new number to the vehicle and new registration card in respect to payment of it.
