Perseverance overcomes all things
となりのはなはあかい

Flowers next door are red
When someone’s feels that things he/she does not own look attractive, but once he/she obtains them, they are not so attractive anymore

花より団子
Sweet rice dumplings rather than flowers
Ones physical needs take precedence over more lofty ideals
まけるがかち
負けるが勝ち
Defeat is a win
うみよりふかいははのあい
海より深い母の愛
Mothers love is deeper than the ocean
Mother is always thinking about her children and will do anything for their sake
ちりも積もれば山となると
If it amasses or if it a accumulates
If you do something a little at a time, someday you will be able to achieve your lofty goal
