Cartridge Papers for renderings
Renderings are colour drawings using tones of colour and texture to produce a realistic artists impression of designs. Often done on cartridge papers.
Layout Papers
The way text and images are arranged in a specific space. Layout paper is partially translucent so used as a tracing paper.
Foam boards
A multi-layer board, made up of 2 outer layers of card with a foam middle. Often used for mood boards or presentation boards as it is easy to cut, lightweight and difficult to bend.
Copyright
The legal right of ownership of copy or artwork that cannot be copied for use without the owner?s permission
Process colours
Cyan, magenta, yellow and black ? the four colours combined in a print process to make full-colour images.
Pantone colour
a specific colour recognised by a code and generally used as a spot colour
Web-fed
Printing onto a continuous roll of paper, rather than onto individual sheets (sheet-fed)
Registration marks
Marks printed with each colour in a two-,three- or four-colour printing process that should line up to create a sharp, clear image
Digital printing
Printing presses can be linked directly to computers to remove the need to make printing plates
Print run
The number of copies to be printed from an original at any one time
