How to establish relationship between reference input xo(t) and deltaV
Use a dynamic model
Open-loop control
If the controller does not use a measure of the system output being controlled in computing the control action to take.
Closed Loop or feedback control
If the controlled output signal is measured and fed back for use in the control computation.
Process
Central component of the feedback system, whose output is being controlled.
Actuator
A device that can influence the controlled variable of the process.
Plant
The combination of process and actuator.

Input Filter
Convert the reference signal to electrical form for later manipulation by the controller.
Controller
Computes the difference between the reference signal and the sensor output to give the controller a measure of the system error.
Block diagram representations
Everytime a line hits a block it is multiplied. For the summing junction, need to see whatever arrow is going into there and it equals output. Check to see if it’s plus or minus.
