A

Health refers to the simple presence or absence of disease in the body, while wellness refers to living as our best selves motivated by the choices we make to reduce risk factors like eating smart and maintaining great relationships with others.

A

Health and wellness can both be about the condition of the body. Wellness simply takes it a step farther by allowing us to still live life to the fullest based on the choices we make, disease free or not.

A

If you have a good quality of life which may look like having a good environment, you’re more likely to make better lifestyle choices which impact how long you live.

Specific groups may have specific problems, challenges, and lifestyles that impact their overall wellness and being aware of what those are can be helpful in addressing wellness issues

Why is it important to be physically active?

A

It’s important to be physically active because our bodies were made to be so when we don’t they deteriorate. Examples include: bone density loss, stiff joints, and weakening muscles. It also makes it easier to do everyday activities and lowers the risk of dying prematurely, and chronic disease.
