What is the definition of climate?
It is the overall pattern of the weather
What is the definition of weather?
Weather is the day to day variation in temperature, precipitation, wind speed, wind direction, cloud cover, humidity and pressure
What is the definition of weather forecast?
Is an update on how the weather will be like either today or the next couple of days
What are the five local features that affect temperature and wind?

What does ASPECT mean?
It is direction the place is facing
What does BUILDINGS mean?
It gives off heat and warms surroundings
What does SHELTER mean?
It is the climate conditions of a small area
What does PHYSICAL FEATURES mean?
Can affect both wind and temperatures
What does SURFACE mean?
It is when dark surfaces warm up most
What is the definition of microclimate?
It is when the climate in a small area is different to the general surroundings
What is a hurricane?
Is a storm with a violent wind, in particular a tropical cyclone in he Caribbean
What is a tropical storm?
A tropical cyclone is a rapidly rotating storm system characterized by a low-pressure center, a closed low-level atmospheric circulation, strong winds, and a spiral arrangement of thunderstorms that produce heavy rain.
What are 3 examples of a tropical storm?

How is a hurricane made?
1) The warm air from several thunderstorms and the ocean will mix together and will start to create low pressure
2) The trade winds at the Equator cause the storm to spin due to the Earth’s rotation
3) Air starts to rise and the pressure starts to decrease at higher altitudes
4) Air rises faster and draws more a warm air from the sea. Once the surface winds reach 119km/h the storm is officially a tropical storm
5) As the storm moves over the ocean it picks up most warm air and the more air it gets the faster the storm goes
6) it can takes hours or days to fully form a hurricane.
What do they use the Saffir-Simpson Scale for?
They use it to measure the potential damage a hurricane might cause!
What is the definition of the global warming?
It is the rise of temperature in the Earths atmosphere.
What is the definition of greenhouse effect?
The trapping of the suns warmth in a planets lower atmosphere
What is the definition of enhanced greenhouse effect?
It is the increase of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases in the Earths atmosphere
Why is farming important?
Because without farming, people could go hungry

What is the definition of an arable farm?
Is where crops grow
What is a definition of pastoral farm?
A pastoral farm is where their main focus of the farm is on producing animal- made things

It is where producing dairy is the main goal for the farm
What is the definition of a mixed farm?
A mixed farm is where the farm grows crops and animals.
What is the definition of hill farms
It is slopes where the sheeps are farmed
