What is the Canadian equivalent of the IRS?
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) administers tax laws for the Government of Canada and for most provinces and territories, and administers various social and economic benefit and incentive programs delivered through the tax system.
How will an Employer Compliance Analyst help and work with employers?
Work with employers to help ensure they accurately report member eligibility, hours, and compensation.
As a technical expert, the ECA will provide
Education and assistance to employers on the highly complex laws and rules that govern eligibility and compensation for the 8 retirement systems and 15 plans.
Who will the ECA consult and communicate?
Employer representatives, government officials, agency directors, department heads, attorneys, and HR and payroll employees.
The ECA will serve as a
Liaison between DRS and the employer community.
What does RCW stand for?
Revised Code of Washington. The compilation of all permanent laws now in force. A collection of Session Laws (enacted by the Legislature, and signed by the Governor, or enacted via the initiative process) arranged by topic, with amendments added and repealed laws removed.
Who publishes the RCW? And when is it updated?
The RCW is published by the Statute Law Committee and Code Revisor. The online version is updated twice a year, once in the early fall following the legislative session, and again at the end of the year if a ballot measure that changes the law passed at the general election.
What is WAC?
Washington Administrative Code. Regulations of executive branch agencies are issued by authority of statutes. Like legislation and the Constitution, regulations are a source of primary law in WA State.
When is the WAC is updated?
The online version of the WAC is updated twice a month. The rules that govern DRS are in Title 415 of the WAC.
ECA’s will have in depth knowledge of what when working with employers?
In-depth knowledge of highly complex RCWs, WACs, policies and other authoritative criteria.
ECAs will determine areas of
Non-compliance
Errors
Exceptions
And will issue formal compliance reports.
ECAs must show competencies in these 6 areas:
