(OB) Organizational Behaviour
The study of what people think, do and feel in an organization. As well as how an organization they behave individually or in groups.
Organization
A group of people that work interdependently toward some purpose.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Consists of organizational activities intended to benefit society and the environment beyond the firm’s financial interests and legal obligations.
Ethics
Morale principles or values that we use to determine right from wrong.
Deep-level Diversity
Diversity found in ones skills, attitude, competencies, ethics and etc.
Evidence Based Management
Involves making decisions and taking actions guided by research evidence.
Surface-level Diversity
Refers to the observable demographics in people. Such as: Ethnicity, gender, age, race and etc.
Globalization
refers to economic, social, and cultural connectivity with people in other parts of the world. Organizations globalize when they actively participate in other countries and cultures.
Three learned needs
- Need for Achievement - People desire unambiguous feedback and recognition and money is a weak motivator.
- Need for Affiliation - desire to seek approval from others, conform to their wishes and expectations, and avoid conflict and confrontation.
- Need for power - . Individuals have personalized power when they enjoy their power for its own sake, use it to advance personal interests, and wear their power as a status symbol. Individuals havesocialized power when they desire power as a means to help others.
