What is a noun?
A person, place, or thing.
In Spanish, all nouns are what?
Masculine and Feminine
What are the Definite Articles?
El (singular, masculine)
La (singular, feminine)
Los (plural, masculine)
Las (plural, feminine)
-They all mean ‘the’.
What changes the Definite Articles?
The gender of the noun (masculine or feminine) and the number (singular or plural).
How to make a noun plural?
-If it ends in a vowel, add a -s to the end.
-If it ends in a consonant, add an -es to the end.
-Use ‘los’ or ‘las’ depending on the gender.
What are the Indefinite Articles?
Un (singular, masculine)
Una (singular, feminine)
Unos (plural, masculine)
Unas (plural, feminine)
-The singular means ‘a’ or ‘an’.
-The plural means ‘some’
What is an adjective?
A word that describes a noun.
Where do we place adjectives?
After the noun it describes.
What are the Rules for Adjectives?
-They must agree with the noun’s gender (masculine or feminine) and number (singular or plural).
-If singular, put -o at the end for masculine and -a at the end for feminine. Leave as is if it doesn’t end in an ‘a’ or an ‘o’.
-If plural, put -os at the end for masculine and -as at the end for feminine. Otherwise, add an -s or -es.
