Cabinet (2)
- Members of Cabinet are called Cabinet Ministers, selected by the PM among MPs who are from party who won the election and each specialize in one department of government - responsible for initiating most legislation (new laws)

all citizens participated directly in political process by voting in every decision

citizens elect representatives to act on their behalf and are expected to voice the views and wishes of their voters

choice to recognize the British monarch as our formal head of state

government is divided into 3 levels: the federal government, provincial governments, and municipal governments who each have authority over different aspects of government

residual powers
leftover powers not given to any level of government, these are given to the federal level automatically
