Explain rise of napoleon.
After the fall of the jacobin government. A new constitution was introduced. It provided two legislative council which selected a directory of 5 members. This was done to safeguard from the possibility of one man dominating power.
Members of the directory often fought among themselves which lead to political instability.
Napoleon took advantage of this situation and rose as a military dictator.

How was taxation policy responsible for the French revolution?
French society was divided into three estate.
First and second estate which formed about 10 percent of the population enjoyed all privileges and exemption from taxes.
Rest 90 percent people had to pay all kinds of direct and indirect taxes. They believed that no group should be privileged by birth.
