A characteristic that discredits a person. Making him or her be seen as abnormal or undesirable (such as someone with HIV)

Practical, everyday needs

Most current communication model that recognizes both people in a conversation are simultaneously senders and receivers

A communication context involving many channels at once

The way we interpret a certain message
What is “content dimension”
Literal information that is communicated by a message . (Such as if someone tells you they are feeling down the content dimension of the message is that they are depressed)

Rules about behavior that has been clearly articulated to you (such as your parents telling you not do something)
What are “implicit rules”
Rules about behavior that has not vern clearly articulated but is nonetheless understood (such as not cutting in line)

Communication that occurs between two people within the context of their relationship
