Culture
It is a way of life or a way of being that is shared by a group of people. Culture includes the knowledge, experiences, and values that a group shares and that shape the way its members see the world.
Pluralistic Society
It means a society made up of many groups of people. All these groups have unique identities, ideas, cultures, and ways of seeing the world.
Natural World
It world means the land, water, mountains, forests, plants, wildlife, and climate.
Core Values
Core values are important ideas or beliefs about how people should live.
Indigenous
This means that they are the original people of this land. Each First Nation has unique beliefs about how the earth was created and how people came to exist.
Traditional Teachings
Traditional teachings also help to explain the relationships among the plants, animals, land, people, and the spirit world.
Elders
Elders have traditionally been the most respected members of Aboriginal communities.
The four core values
- People are not separate from nature or from the nonliving world. Everything on earth is connected to everything else.
- The wisdom and experience of the Elders is highly valued. Elders deserve the respect of all members of the community.
- A spiritual world exists. It plays a very important role in all that happens on earth.
- People must live in harmony with each other and in balance with nature.
Oral culture, when and why it was used
Oral culture is information passed down through the generations by word of mouth that is not written down.

Purpose of the Buffalo Jump
The purpose of the Buffalo Jump was to show how the First Nation people hunted the Buffalo using the cliff.
Roles of men and women in Mi’kmaq ?
Women were responsible of looking after the kids and their home.The womens also collected and prepared the food and clothing. Men were hunters, fisherman and most often went to wars to protect their families.
How did Mi’kmaq lived/survived ?
The Mi’kmaq people lived in Wigwams made by womens. They were made using poles tied together, birchbark was used for the covering, there was a hole in the top for smoke to escape, floor was made of animal fur and the door was also animal hide.
How did the Mi’kmaq people made decisions ?
The Mi’kmaq people made decisions using consensus.
