Ex- elbow is proximal to wrist
Distal
Away from site of attachment
Ex- the wrist is distal to be elbow
Superficial
Toward the body of the surface
Deep
Toward the inside of the body
Rostral
Toward nose or mouth
Ex- the cranium is rostral to the spinal cord
Caudal
Toward the tail end
