Spread Sheet
An electronic file that contains a grid of columns and rows used to organize related data.
Worksheet
A single spreadsheet that typically contains descriptive labels numeric values, formula and graphical representation of data.
Workbook
A collection of one or more related worksheet.
Cell
Intersection of row and column.
Cell Address
Identified by its column letter first and than row number.
Text
Combination of letters, numbers, symbols and spaces not used in calculation.
Autofill
A feature that helps complete a sequence of words or values.
Autocomplete
Feature searches for and automatically displays any other label in the same column that matches the letter typed.
Values
Numbers that represent a quantity or a measurable amount.
Formula
Combines cell references, arithmetic operations, values and functions used in calculations.
Order of Operation
Rules that control the sequence in which arithmetic operations are performed.
Semi-Selection
A process of selecting a cell or range of cells for entering cell references as you create a formula.
Pointing
Used to select cell as you build the formula.
Range
Refers to a group of adjacent or contiguous cells in a worksheet.
Nonadjacent Range
Refers to groups of cell that are not adjacent.
Cell Style
A collection of format setting to provide a consistent appearance within a worksheet.
Alignment
Refers to how data are positioned in the boundaries of a cell.
Border
A line that surrounds a cell or a range of cell.
Fill Color
A background colour that displays behind the data in a cell so that the data stands out.
Number Format
Controls how values are displayed in a cell.
