- expose volar forearm or upper back and wipe, 2. Grab posterior upper arm, 3. Insert @ 15 degree angle up to hub, 4. Aspirate for blood, inject and use gauze/pressure to withdraw.
What are 4 main steps for giving an intramuscular injection? (not comprehensive)
- Expose deltoid (or other appropriate site) 2.wipe 2-3 fingers below acromial process w/alcohol, 3. Squeeze deltiod and and insert at 90 degrees to hub, 4. Aspirate for blood, inject and press with gauze to remove.
