neither very good nor very bad; the amount you get when you add together several quantities and divide this by the total number of quantities
e.g. The cars were being sold at an average price of $11000.
figure out (v)
to think about a problem until you find the answer
e.g. Don’t worry, we’ll figure something out (=find a way to solve the problem).
get to (v)
to start doing something
e.g. He got to thinking how disappointed his parents would be.
professional (adj)
well trained and is good at their work
e.g. This business plan looks very professional.
turn into (v)
to change or develop into something different
e.g.Our vacation turned into a nightmare.
hide (v)
go or stay in a place where no one can see or find you
e.g. She hid the key in the drawer.
magic (n)
something that you cannot explain, that someone makes happen in a secret way
e.g. They use magic as a way of getting revenge
let (v)
allow or permit someone to do something
e.g. I stepped back and let him pass.
researcher (n)
people who study a subject to find new facts about it
e.g. Researchers found a new tribe in a very remote area in Africa.
melt (v)
change from a solid to a liquid (like ice to water) because of the heat
e.g. Climate change is causing the polar ice cap to melt.
