comprise the development and use of information systems that help organizations achieve goals and objectives. The definition of MIS has 3 key components: 1. development and use 2. information systems 3.goals & objectives.
M.I.S.: Development and Use of Information Systems
Systems designed and created by business analyst and systems designers at the request of senior managers or entrepreneurs to solve a particular problem or meet a perceived need. Answers such questions as “Where did that information come from?”, “How was that system constructed?”, and “What roles did the actual people who will use it play in its development?”.
M.I.S.:Achieving Business Goals and Objectives
information systems exist to help organizational actors achieve the goals and objectives of that organization.
Question that should be asked when deciding to invest into the latest gadget:
“What business goal or objective will be served by the investment in the gadget, do we really need it and does it add value to our customers?”
