The Imprisonment of Doña Teodora (Details)

A

Before June 1872, Donya Teodora was accused of poisoning the wife of Jose Alberto. Since the Gobernadorcillo had a personal grudge against the Rizal family he helped to arrest Donya Teodora. She was forced to walk from Calamba to Santa Cruz (50 km.) Languished for two years. Defended by famous lawyers Francisco de Marcaida Manuel Marzan.
