Methodological Behaviorism
Acknowledges the existence of mental events, but does not consider them in the analysis of behavior.
Only focuses on observable, stimuli and observable responses. It denies the behavior relationship with private events.
Radical Behaviorism
By incorporating private events into an overall conceptual system of behavior. Seeks to understand all human behavior.
Radical behaviorism was primarily researched by BF Skinner. It emphasizes operant conditioning, the relationship of the antecedent, behavior, and consequence. Radical behaviorism describes private events. .
Mentalism
Maybe defined as an approach to the study study of behavior, which assumes that a mental are inner dimension exist that differs from the behavioral dimension.
Mentalism include circular reasoning, explanatory fiction, and hypothetical construct
Circular Reasoning
Provides an explanation of causing effect that circles back to the original information without giving you further explanation.
Explanatory Fiction
Default explanation of behavior, and appears to explain the behavior, but is not described based on objective scientific evidence.
